Vestry
We regularly get numerous announcements for our bulletin of events going on in the community. Unfortunately, due to space limitations we can’t run everything. We realize that concerts and parish dinners are popular with many people, so we will now post a weekly listing of coming events on our website. Here are this week’s events:
Mass For Those Living With Cancer
Are you or someone close to you living with cancer? Prayerful support from people they love can be a source of strength and healing. On Monday, February 15th at 7pm, St. Pius X will offer a Mass for the intention of people living with cancer and for their families and friends. Following Mass, the Sacrament of Anointing will be offered to those who request it.
Christopher Leadership Course
Are you nervous speaking in front of a group of people? Do you want to be able to think on your feet and say what you mean? The Christopher Leadership Course in Public Speaking will begin at 7pm on Monday, February 15th on the fourth floor of the City Market. For more details, call 635-1630 and leave your name and phone number, or email address.
Weekly Christian Meditation
The Villa Madonna invites you join them every Tuesday morning from 10-10:45am. Includes a 15 minute taped reflection by Benedictine Monk John Main, followed by 25 minutes of silent mediation. There is no cost, but there is a free-will donation at the coffee break. For more information, or to register, contact the Villa Madonna @ 849-5125.
The Wizard of Oz
Production presented by St. Malachy’s on February 17th, 18th, 19th & 20th at 8pm. Matinee on Saturday, February 20th at 2pm. Tickets are $12, and are available at the St. Malachy’s office (658-5361) or Beckwith & Company in the City Market.
Before our latest Ministry Schedules were distributed, every second row was shaded in an effort to make them easier to follow. Unfortunately, the shading was too dark, and some parishioners have found them difficult to read. The revised version is below, and there are also copies available at the entrance of the church for those who wish to have a replacement.

The folders will be available at the entrance of the church beginning on Wednesday. All proceeds go to the needy of the parish, which includes our regular monthly donations to the Food Bank. Please don’t feel that you have to fill a folder with quarters; use bills or a cheque if it is more convenient for you.
We ask that you avoid taping individual quarters. It makes them very sticky, which makes our bank very unhappy. The folders are treated especially gently to ensure nothing falls out. There is also a place on the folder for you to write in the total amount included. As long as you write in the amount, there is no need to worry if a quarter or two become dislodged – We trust you.
Beginning on Monday, weekday Masses will be held in the vestry. We ask that those attending Mass continue to use the main entrance on Rockland Road.
Lenten reading materials will be available at the entrance of the church beginning on Ash Wednesday. We encourage you to get yours early as there are limited quantities available.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available each weekend during Lent from 4:15 – 4:45pm on Saturdays, and 9:45 – 10:15am on Sundays.

All of the remaining tax receipts for 2009 were mailed out last weekend. If you have not yet received yours, or you feel that there is an error, please contact the office.
