First Sunday Of Advent
Month: November 2010
CWL Dinner
The annual Holy Trinity CWL Christmas Dinner will be held on Tuesday, December 7th. Mass will be celebrated at 5pm, followed by a pot luck dinner in the Family Center. Members are asked to bring a gift for a boy or girl. Please do not wrap the gift, but bring a gift bag or wrapping paper.
Turkey Foster Families Required
We have received a donation of 55 frozen turkeys for our Christmas Baskets. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to store all of them in the church. If you have a little extra space in your freezer and can give a frozen turkey a loving home between now and December 20th, please call Sr. Nickerson (696-1500).

Christmas Flower Memorial
This year we are asking for your assistance as we decorate Holy Trinity for Christmas. We encourage you to make a donation towards our Christmas flowers in memory of a loved one. Simply write the name(s) of those you would like to remember on one of our Building fund envelopes. Please also indicate that the envelope is for “Flowers”, and include your envelope number. The names of all those being honored will be included in our Christmas bulletin.
Memorial Mass
Last year’s Memorial Mass honoured those who had died over the previous two years. Given the success of that Mass, our Liturgy Committee has decided that they we will only be holding the Memorial Mass every second year. As a result, we will not be having a Memorial Mass this month, rather, we will remember those whose funerals were celebrated here at Holy Trinity during 2010 & 2011 next November.
Parish Sign
It has been several years since Holy Trinity had a proper sign outside of the church. Fr. Stephen has decided that the community should once again know that our Parish is “open for Business” and has commissioned a new sign for our front lawn. The new sign will be over 10 feet tall and will prominently display our Mass times – and we hope to have it in place for Christmas. Our new sign will cost approximately $7,000, so we are once again asking for your help in the form of donations. If you would like to help make a donation to offset the cost of our new sign, please place a donation in the collection with the envelope marked “Parish Sign”. As always, we thank you in advance for your generosity.
Memorial Tree
Each year, as Christmas approaches, people think of family members and friends who have died. Many have found our Memorial Tree to be a helpful way of remembering and dealing with feelings of loss during an otherwise happy time. If this is helpful for you, you are invited to print the names(s) of deceased relatives and friends on an envelope and mark it “Memorial Tree”. These names will be placed on ornaments prepared and decorated by the children in our Religious Education Program and the ornaments will be placed on the Tree. While you may also use the same envelope to make a voluntary donation to our Building Fund, a donation is not required. Deadline for submission of names is Sunday, December 19th.
Parish Meeting – Visioning Process
As the diocese moves forward to identify what is important to the Parish Life of its Congregation, we are embarking on a process to develop a Pastoral Plan for the next (5) five years. This Plan will be an effort to focus on the pastoral needs of our whole diocese. This Plan will begin with a statement of the Vision of the diocese as it strives to live up to its Vision (What are we called to do given the vision that we have?). A Plan normally includes three categories: Goals, objectives and strategies. Your knowledge and expertise is crucial to the successful development and implementation of the Plan. All parishioners are invited to participate initially in a Pastoral Visioning Information Session that will be held in Holy Trinity Church, on Sunday, November 21st at 2pm. This is an opportunity to discover how you can contribute to the development of the Plan. Looking forward to having as many of our parishioners as possible attend.
