The annual Lenten Development and Peace collection (Saturday, March 24^th, and Sunday, March 25^th) goes towards helping to support the needs of those living in developing, poor Third World countries. The Canadian Bishops encourage us to respond to God’s generosity to us by supporting the works of the Canadian Catholic Organization of Development and Peace. Christians are urged to share their goods with others and thus express in a concrete way their desire to come closer to God and all God’s children as a result of their Lenten efforts, through this annual collection.
