649

We’d like to thank everyone who played during 2010, the funds raised have helped to pay for numerous building upgrades, including the new brighter lights that were installed over the past week in the church.

Stella and Dee Dee will soon begin collecting again for our 649 Draw. The next draw starts on Saturday, March 5th, with the cutoff date to submit your numbers being Sunday, February 27th. Stella will be at the back of the church after each weekend Mass to collect your $10.

As always, we will be having four draws again this year and if you find it more convenient to pay for all four now at the beginning of the year, please see Stella – she would be more than happy to take your money for the full year. Contact Stella (652-2565) for more information or to submit your numbers.

Peace Pennies

Again this year our Religious Education students are working on their Peace Pennies project. Every week they have been collecting pennies for peace as a way to thank God for all they have, and to show that even the smallest coin can make a difference in a child’s life. They are filling a pickle bottle with pennies, which will be rolled and sent to the Belfast Children’s Vacation Project (belfastkids.ca).

The children will be saving pennies until May, and parishioners are invited to bring in any unwanted pennies to go to the cause. You may put your pennies in an envelope, marked “Peace Pennies”, and put them in the collection – we’ll see to it that your pennies make their way to the bottle.

On Tuesday, February 15th, 6:30pm, an inter-parish meeting will be held at St. Pius X Parish Hall for the Visioning Committee. As we celebrate the annual “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity”. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend this important annual prayer service as we welcome our Anglican sisters and brothers to our community.

2010 Tax Receipts

Tax receipts for last year will be mailed out early next week. If you do not receive yours sometime within the next week, or you discover that there is an error, please contact the office. Please also note that because of a quirk in our donation tracking software a very small number of parishioners will be receiving two receipts. The two receipts combined will be your total contribution for the year.
