The Saint John High School Concert Choir will present a concert on May 25th, 7pm, SJHS Auditorium. There will be a free will offering and all proceeds will assist the choir in their travel to Ottawa. The choir was selected to represent New Brunswick at Unisong and will sing on Parliament Hill with the National Arts Center Symphony. The choir is directed by Patricia Gallagher and accompanied by Alex Cho. Other performances will include One Five O, The SJHS Jazz Choir, Madrigal Choir, and graduating musicians.

Show is at Park Avenue United Church, East Saint John, on Saturday, October 23rd, from 1-4pm. Admission is $6 and includes your choice of dessert. There will also be a bake/craft tables and raffle quilt.

Thanksgiving Day Mass
All are invited to Stella Maris on Monday, October 11th at 12:05pm. A monetary collection will be taken up for the Saint John East Food bank. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
Mass For Those Living With Cancer
Are you or someone close to you living with cancer? Prayerful support from people they love can be a source of strength and healing. On Monday, October 11th at 7pm, St. Pius X will offer a Mass for the intention of people living with cancer and for their families and friends. Following Mass, the Sacrament of Anointing will be offered to those who request it.

Concert
Celebrate what’s right with a the world at a concert being headlined by Terry Kelly, and featuring Fr. Clark MacAulay, Paul LeBlanc, Debbie Harrity, Brad & Krista Trecartin, and Becka DeHoan. Concert is being hosted by St. Joachim’s on Wednesday, October 6th, 7pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. There will also be a 50/50 draw. Proceeds are going towards St. Joachim’s Christmas Basket program. St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary

Assumption Breakfast
The Knights of Columbus #6770 will be holding their monthly breakfast on Sunday, October 3rd, from 9am-1pm at the Assumption Centre, Chapel St., West. Cost: Adults – $6, Children under 12 – $3. Proceeds going to the Parkinson’s Society Saint John Chapter and K of C Council 6770’s charities.
Parish Restoration Harvest Bingo

Friday night card games will be starting on September 24th at St. Pius X. Doors open at 7pm; games begin at 7:30pm. Cost: $3 per person. A light lunch is served and there will be a 50/50 Draw. All proceeds going to the St. Pius X Bereavement Committee. Games will be held on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. All are invited to attend.
12th Annual Rocmaura Gala Dinner and Auction
Fundraiser takes place on Saturday, September 25th at the Trade & Convention Centre. Viewing begins at 5pm. Proceeds will go towards Phase II of their Resident Upgrade Project. Auction items, such as antique furniture, jewelry, china and crystal are still required. To arrange for pick-up of a donated item, or to obtain tickets, contact the Rocmaura Foundation at 643-7090.

Mass for Healing
Bishop Harris will be celebrating the Mass at St. Peter’s on Thursday, September 16th, 7pm at St. Peter’s. Rosary begins at 6:15pm; Mass will be followed by Adoration, Reconciliation and Prayer Teams. Evening ends with Benediction at 9pm. Missionary image our Our Lady of Guadalupe will be present. Cathedral Restoration Concert
On Thursday, September 16th, 8pm, Irish Tenor Anthony Kearns will be performing at Saint John High School in his only New Brunswick appearance. Tickets are $20 and are available at The Catholic Bookstore and O’Leary’s – proceeds are going towards the restoration of the Cathedral.
Fiddlers
Park Avenue Fiddlers & Friends will be entertaining at St. Ann’s Church Hall, Simpson Drive, on Friday, September 17th, 7:30 – 9:30pm. Freewill offering at the door – proceeds going towards new doors for the church. Free tea, coffee and doughnuts are available during the break.
Walk for Life
Saint John Right to Life is holding their annual event on Saturday, September 18th at Rockwood Park. Registration begins at 11am; a barbeque follows the walk at the A-Frame near the play park. Call 657-3771 to get a pledge sheet or to sponsor a walker.
Brunch
St. Peter’s will be hosting a brunch on Sunday, September 19th, from 11am – 1pm. Admission is $6 for Adults, $3 for Youths (12 and under), and $20 for a family of 5 or more (parents and school-age children). Proceeds are going towards parish activities.
Fall Supper
A Roast Beef Dinner, with pie for dessert, will be hosted by St. Anthony’s at the Central Kings Rec Centre, Titusville Road, Upham, on Sunday, September 19th from 3 – 6pm. There will also be a Craft & Bake table. Cost: Adults $10, Children $5, and Families $25.

We congratulate Sister Mary Beth McCurdy on her election as congregational leader of the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception.
