Saint John Community Events – September 27-October 3, 2010

Christian Meditation
The Villa Madonna hosts Christian Mediation every Tuesday, 10am. Everyone is welcome.

Harvest Moon Bingo
Games will be at St. Pius X on Wednesday, September 29^th. Early Bird Games begin at 6pm, with Regular Games starting at 7pm – $1000 Jackpot. Tickets are $20 and are available at the parish office (653-6830), or call 657-9566 (West) or 696-8169 (East). Tickets are also available at the door.

St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary
Annual Meeting & Dinner will be held on Tuesday, September 28^th, at the Assumption Centre. Reception is at 5pm, dinner follows at 5:30pm. For more information, contact Rose Doherty (672-9187).

Assumption Breakfast
The Knights of Columbus #6770 will be holding their monthly breakfast on Sunday, October 3^rd, from 9am-1pm at the Assumption Centre, Chapel St., West. Cost: Adults – $6, Children under 12 – $3. Proceeds going to the Parkinson’s Society Saint John Chapter and K of C Council 6770′s charities.

Parish Restoration Harvest Bingo
St. Joachim’s is hosting a bingo on Sunday, October 3^rd. Doors open at 12:30pm; Early Bird games go from 1:30-2:30pm; Regular Games start at 2:30pm. Jackpot of $1000. Pre-sold tickets are $20 (early bird games and specials sold separately), and are available by calling Marie Gallant (696-8169), Conrad Haney (696-5478), or Kevin Marsden (696-1131).

Thanksgiving Dinner
St. John the Baptist will be hosting a Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings on Sunday, October 3^rd, from 4-5pm, with takeout available from 5-5:30pm. There will also be a bake table. Tickets are available by calling the parish office (653-6998), Noreen (646-1009), or Gertrude (693-7852).

Christian Meditation

Evening Prayer
All are welcome to St. Alphonsus, Hampton, on Tuesday, September 21^st, 7pm.

Seminar
On Thursday, September 23^rd at 7pm, an 8-week “Life in the Holy Spirit” seminar begins at St. Peter’s church hall. For information, contact Margaret (635-0311).

Card Games
Friday night card games will be starting on September 24^th at St. Pius X. Doors open at 7pm; games begin at 7:30pm. Cost: $3 per person. A light lunch is served and there will be a 50/50 Draw. All proceeds going to the St. Pius X Bereavement Committee. Games will be held on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. All are invited to attend.

12^th Annual Rocmaura Gala Dinner and Auction
Fundraiser takes place on Saturday, September 25^th at the Trade & Convention Centre. Viewing begins at 5pm. Proceeds will go towards Phase II of their Resident Upgrade Project. Auction items, such as antique furniture, jewelry, china and crystal are still required. To arrange for pick-up of a donated item, or to obtain tickets, contact the Rocmaura Foundation at 643-7090.

Auction
A Live and Silent Auction will be held at Stella Maris on Saturday, September 25^th at 5pm. There will be a great selection of items available to help you start your Christmas shopping.

Turkey Dinner
Fall Dinner will be held at St. Joachim’s on Sunday, September 26^th, 4-6pm. Cost: Adults $10, Children under 12 $5. Dinner includes dessert, tea and coffee. Take-out is available. Tickets are available at the door, or call 696-1905.
