Community Events – April 12th

Events taking place around Saint John over the next few weeks:

Rocmaura Auxiliary
Next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 12th, 4pm in the Boardroom of Rocmaura Nursing Home.

Evening Prayer
The Sisters of Charity invite you to attend Evening Prayer at Holy Trinity on Thursday, April 12th, 7pm. All are welcomed to this monthly event. Evening Prayer is a peaceful 30-40 minutes experienced in Word, Music and Silence at the end of the day.

Adult Catechesis
St. Joachim’s Parish Centre, 603 Loch Lomond Road, Thursday, April 12th, at 7pm. This week – “The End Times and the Rapture” (Week 1). It is not necessary to have attended any of the previous weeks in order to participate.

Cursillo
Due to Holy Thursday, monthly Ultreya at St. Joachim’s has been rescheduled to April 12th at 7:30pm. Please use the main doors of the church off of the upper parking lot. Everyone is welcome.

Yard Sale
Saint François-de-Sales Parish, Millidgeville, will be hosting a yard sale in their hall on Saturday, April 14th, from 9am – 1pm.

Breakfast
The K of C will be holding their monthly breakfast at the Assumption Center, Chapel Street, on Sunday, April 15th, 9am – 1pm. Cost: Adults $6, Children $3. The proceeds go to NB Right to Life and P.R.O. Kids.

Divine Mercy Sunday Hour Of Mercy
Everyone is invited to attend the special Hour of Mercy on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 15th, 3 pm at Holy Trinity, 348 Rockland Road. A reception will follow in the parish center.

Evening Prayer
You are invited to Evening Prayer at St. Alphonsus, Church Street, Hampton on Tuesday, April 17th at 7pm.

12th Annual Senior Wellness Fair
Learn about safe & healthy living from over 30 exhibitors. Friday, April 20th, 12:30 – 3:30pm at the Loch Lomond Villa, Simonds Lions Auditorium. Free admission and parking. Call 648-6056 for more information. Everyone is welcome.

Flea Market + Book Sale + Bake Sale
Silver Falls United Church will be holding the sale on Saturday, April 21st from 8:30am – 12:30pm. Admission is $1.

Growing Faith Series

Roast Beef Supper
St. Peter’s will be hosting a Roast Beef Supper on Saturday, April 21st, in their hall from 4 – 6pm. Cost: Adults $10, Children (12 and under) $5. Call 653-6844 to reserve your tickets.

Card Party
Stella Maris, Bayside Drive, will be hosting an evening of Keep Your Partner 45’s on Saturday, April 21st at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7pm; cost is $5/person. Light lunch will be served.

Sunshine Garden Party
St. Pius X will be holding a Ham and Scallop Dinner with Auction on Sunday, April 22nd. Viewing begins at 5pm, Dinner will be served at 5:30pm. There will also be Door Prizes, a 50/50 Draw and Entertainment. Tickets are $20, and are available by calling 653-6830, or 657-1688.

Spring Close Out Sale
The Rocmaura Foundation will be holding a sale on Friday, April 27th from 10am – 7pm in the Rocmaura Club Room, 10 Parks Street. Items include dishes, furniture, appliances, jewelry, and sporting goods. Free Admission. For more information call 643-7090.

Flea Market
St. Joachim’s, 603 Loch Lomond Road, will be hosting a flea market on Saturday, April 28th, 9am – noon.

Breakfast
The K of C are holding their monthly breakfast at the Assumption Center, Chapel Street, on Sunday, May 6th from 9am – 1pm. Cost: Adults $6, Children $3.

Casino Night And Gift Auction
St. Peter’s will be hosting the evening on Saturday, May 26th from 7 – 9pm. Tickets are $20, and are available at The St. Peter’s office. There will be an auction at the end of the evening, and a High Roller table ($100/seat) will be available.

Zumba
Ditch the workout, join the party – try Zumba every Monday and Wednesday from 7- 8pm at St. Joachim’s parish hall, 603 Loch Lomond Road. Only $5 per person. Call Marie (696-8169) for more information.

Jam Session
Monday Night Country and Blue Grass Jam held at Stella Maris Church, Bayside Drive. Doors open at 5:30pm, music begins at 7pm. There is a $2 charitable donation to help defray heating costs. Come along and bring your musical instrument, your voice, and your friends. Call Marcel (634-0606) for more information.

Zumba For Seniors
Saint Joachim’s holds Zumba Gold classes in the parish hall every Tuesday at 10am. Zumba Gold modifies the pace and the moves of regular Zumba classes making them easier for older or less active participants. Just like the nighttime classes, Zumba Gold is only $5 per person. If you haven’t tried Zumba yet because you thought you might not be able to keep up, this is your chance to get in on the fun! Call Marie (696-8169) for more information.

Christian Meditation
Everyone is welcome each Tuesday, 10am at the Villa Madonna.

Cards
Senior’s Cards at the St. Joseph’s Church HOPE Centre every Tuesday from 1- 3pm.

Prayer Group
The Crown of Glory prayer group meets every Tuesday at 7:30pm at St. Joachim’s.

K of C Bingo
Come out for a night of fun at the Knights of Columbus Bingo every Friday at St. Joachim’s. Doors open at 5pm. Early games start at 6:30pm; regular games at 7pm. Come and try your luck!

Friday Night Cards
St. Pius X is hosting 45’s every second and fourth Friday of the month. Doors open at 7, games begin at 7:30pm. Admission is only $3/person with a light lunch and 50/50 draw.
