Events taking place around Saint John over the next few weeks:

Concert
Students from the Harbour View High School Choral Studies course will be performing at Our Lady of the Assumption, Dufferin Row, on Wednesday, June 6th at 7:30pm. The program includes Gregorian Chant, English Madrigals, Renaissance polyphony, Oratorio, Folk Song, Romantic and contemporary repertoire. Free will offering.

Evening Prayer
The Sisters of Charity invite you to attend Evening Prayer at Holy Trinity, Rockland Road, on Thursday, June 7th, 7pm. All are welcomed to this monthly event. Evening Prayer is a peaceful 30-40 minutes experienced in Word, Music and Silence at the end of the day.

Plant Sale
Symphony New Brunswick will be holding their annual sale at St. Paul’s Church on the Rothesay Common, on Saturday, June 9th from 9am – noon. There will be a large selection of perennials and shrubs. They will also accept donations of plants on Friday, June 8th at St. Paul’s Church Hall between 6 – 8pm. For more information, call 693-6819.

St. Thomas University Catholic Theology Presentation
Dr. Ryan Topping, Chair of Studies of Catholic Theology at St. Thomas University, will be giving a presentation on “An Introduction To The Riches Of The Catholic Vision Following The Structure Of The Catechism Of The Catholic Church” on Saturday, June 9th from 10am – 12 noon at Saint Joachim’s, 603 Loch Lomond Road. All welcome. Refreshments provided.

Breakfast
The K of C will be holding their monthly breakfast at the Assumption Centre, Chapel Street, on Sunday, June 10th from 9am – 1pm. Cost: Adults $6; Children $3.

Spring Concert
The Saint John Men’s Chorus will be performing on Tuesday, June 12th, 7:30pm at Portland United Church, off Millidge Avenue. Enjoy a mix of classical, popular and sacred choral music in four part harmony presented by twenty men directed by David Mitchell. Tickets are $15 and are available at the door.

Reunion
The annual St. Vincent’s Boys/St.Malachy’s Alumni Reunion Dinner will take place Friday, June 15th, in the Bishop Bray gymnasium, St. Malachy’s Memorial High School. The evening begins at 5:30pm with a Wine & Cheese social hour, followed by dinner at 7:30pm. Tickets are $40, and are available at the school office. Cursillo
Grand Ultreya will be held at St. Ann’s, Simpson Drive, on Saturday, June 16th from 10am – 3pm. Pot Luck lunch and Mass will be celebrated.

Anniversary
There will be an open house held at St. Peter’s Church Hall, Clarendon Street, on Saturday, June 16th, 1 – 3pm to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Fr. William Phillips’ Ordination. Everyone is welcome.

Card Game
On Saturday, June 16th, 7pm, St. Joachim’s, 603 Loch Lomond Road, is hosting a “Keep Your Partner” night of Auction 45s. First Prize is $100, second is $80, and third is $40. There will be a light lunch served after the games. Come out for an evening of fun and make new friends. Tickets are $10 for 2 people. Mass For Special Intentions
Father Paul LeBlanc will be celebrating a Mass at St. Joachim’s on Tuesday, June 19th, 7pm, for everyone’s Special Intentions. All are welcome to attend.

Cards
There will be an afternoon of Bridge under the tent at Rothesay High School on Thursday, June 21st, 1 – 4pm. Cost is $20 per person, with a $10 tax receipt. All Proceeds going to the Heart and Stroke Association of New Brunswick. Call 848-5464 to register your group of four players.

Mass for Healing
Fr. Ralph McRae will be celebrating Mass on Thursday, June 21st, 7pm at St. Peter’s, Clarendon Street. Mass will be followed by Adoration, Reconciliation and Benediction. For more information, call Joanie Marks (635-5727).

Cards
Stella Maris, Bayside Drive, will be hosting a 45’s Card party on Saturday, June 23rd at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7pm, cost is $3/person and a light lunch will be served. Come and bring a friend.

Bingo
St. Pius X, 316 Somerset Street, will be hosting their annual Canada Day Bingo on Wednesday, June 27th. Early Bird Games begin at 6pm, Regular Games at 7pm. $1,000 Jackpot and 9 Games for $100. Tickets are $20 and are available by contacting the parish office (653-6830), or Marie (696-8169).

Mass For Those Living With Cancer
Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 2nd, 7pm, at St. Pius X. Mass will be offered for the intention of people living with cancer and for their families and friends. The Sacrament of Anointing will take place following Mass for those who request it.

Reunion Dinner
The St. Vincent’s Alumnae Annual Reunion Dinner is being held on Friday, July 6th, at the Delta Brunswick Hotel. Registration deadline is June 27th. Tickets are $40 (includes $5 membership dues). Zumba
Ditch the workout, join the party – try Zumba every Monday and Wednesday from 7 – 8pm at St. Joachim’s parish hall, 603 Loch Lomond Road. Only $5 per person. Call Marie (696-8169) for more information.

Jam Session
Monday Night Country and Blue Grass Jam held at Stella Maris Church, Bayside Drive. Doors open at 5:30pm, music begins at 7pm. There is a $2 charitable donation to help defray heating costs. Come along and bring your musical instrument, your voice, and your friends. Call Marcel (634-0606) for more information.

Zumba For Beginners
Saint Joachim’s holds Zumba Gold classes in the parish hall every Tuesday at 10am. Zumba Gold modifies the pace and the moves of regular Zumba classes making them easier for older or less active participants. Just like the nighttime classes, Zumba Gold is only $5 per person. If you haven’t tried Zumba yet because you thought you might not be able to keep up, this is your chance to get in on the fun! Call Marie (696-8169) for more information.

Christian Meditation
Everyone is welcome each Tuesday, 10am at the Villa Madonna.

Senior’s Cards at the St. Joseph’s Church HOPE Centre every Tuesday from 1- 3pm.

Prayer Group
The Crown of Glory prayer group meets every Tuesday at 7:30pm at St. Joachim’s.

K of C Bingo
Come out for a night of fun at the Knights of Columbus Bingo every Friday at St. Joachim’s. Doors open at 5pm. Early games start at 6:30pm; regular games at 7pm. Come and try your luck!
